    I saw the Katwa College Hostel comming up in 1960s. The Hostel was primarily meant for students who admitted themselves in the Katwa College, but hailed from far away places, from which daily commuting facility was not available. The present occupation ratio , I am not aware of. The Katwa Coolege ranks fairly well among tghe other affiliated colleges of Burdwan University. I attended in my younger days the musical functions held at the College lawns , late in the evening. I was not a student of this College however.
